I am a fan of Othello...not just cause I am a brotha, but because of the pure evil and rage that burns within Iago...I mean, he really had it in for Othello, and for what reason?? I think this is one of the great Shakespeare mysteries....What yours??

Everyone gets a thumbs up!!
Hamlet is a great one, but I am also a fan of MacBeth..in the end when he faces macduff and realizes this is the end...what great heroism even in the face of certain peril...a time when you are cheering for the bad guy to win...

I've always loved "A Midsummer Night's Dream". I am an actor who has had the good fortune to appear in many of Shakespeare's plays including three productions of "Midsummer". The poetry and imagery are beautiful. In one of the productions where I played Puck the part of of Oberon was played a a black man fully 6'5" tall. He added menace and romance to the charactor. Years later, he played Othello. Still one of my favorite actors in the part.

Taming of the Shrew!
Why...simple, its funny, complicated...and you can interpret the last scene until you're blue in the face, but you'll never know for sure what Shakespeare's intent was...
Oh...and I also love Midsummers Night Dream, and 12th Night...
But for drama it goes to Othello, Macbeth, Hamlet or Richard II and III!
I love Shakespeare!

It's so cliche to say, but I love Hamlet. I do. It's so powerful and full of big themes, and as a young person (just like the prince of Denmark) I can relate. I love it. It's brillliant.
My hunch is when I'm older I'll like King Lear the most.

I'm a sucker for Hamlet... I love the Oedipus syndrome overtones, the tragedy, the ghosts and the internal struggles of the young prince himself.

Hamlet. It has so many layers of revenge and love and darkness, Hamlet's destiny is predestined, he knows it'll end bad but he has to do what he has to do, a bit Messianic in that way...very Freudian

Ooohh. This is a hard one. I'm going to choose The Merchant of Venice because I like seeing a woman prove herself and I love the suspense.

Gotta' agree with you, Othello! The first time I read the play I thought my heart would break as he "talked" himself into killing her at the bed side. Human Psyche at it's finest!!

Hamlet. He was so utterly brilliant, and so utterly doomed, and knew it, almost from the beginning. If the mind of man can be parsed, it was parsed in Hamlet.
