In Russia students study at school for 11 years (from the age of 6 until they are 17). The high school equivalent is the last two years, but quite often they remain at the same school (same building). they also have a choice to go to a vocational school or vocational college at that time (3-4 years of study instead of two of the high school, but then they get a profession). In the last few years they've also got an option to go to "lycee" or "gymnasium" with a more profound study of particular subject.

In China, it's about the same as the US. 12 grades/years of school, so graduation from high school would be around 17 or 18. However, it's interesting that they don't have a ceremony like the US. When I go back to China and show my cousins and the rest of the family pictures from my high school graduation, they are amazed at the pomp and circumstance of the whole thing.

College is another two or four depending on the major and degree. So it's quite similar to the US, expect that school is way harder and more intense.

I'm not sure about Russia. But it's probably similar. I think only the US has an easy school system.
