If one of the parties involved doesn't know what's going on, and the action is hidden from them because they would be mad or hur because of it, it's cheating. Regardless of what the activity is. If you have to hide it because it would hurt your spouse if they knew you were doing it, you're cheating on them.

If all parties involved have a mutual knowledge and acceptance of the situation, it's not cheating.
