It is a show home for the builders - they build it to have a live model to show people. Once a community is completed, they'll sell the spec home.

It is a house the contractor builds without having a buyer in advance, spec is short for speculation. Now a spi* home would be found in the immigration catagory.

its where a builder puts up a new home in a certain subdivision for a model home, to show the public what his work is & etc. I do new construction cleaning & have done alot of spec & patio homes.

a spec home is what a contractor puts up to show what kinds of homes are going to be built in certian subdivisins or just what kind of homes he offers
