This is a sensitive topic with a lot of people. I am a mother, and I would never do anything to change that. I do feel, however, that there are circumstances in which abortion is okay. I am niether for it, nor against it. If a person is raped, or abused, they should definately have the right to choose. Pregnancy is really tough for some people and I don't see the point in adding insult to injury. If a girl was raped by a family member - I'm not being sick. It happens all the time - they why risk the genetic defects? You can't always predict these things, but then the child would have to grow up dealing with more problems than what is fair to a child, of all people. I guess what I'm trying to say is, abortion should be legal. If it's not for you, don't support it, but don't prevent other people from being helped. I don't believe in having repeat abortions though, people that do should either not have sex at all, or use birth control.

My answer is yes, however, this is a really tough question. On one hand I would say if people are going to go through back channels and get it done anyway and put their lives at risk, maybe it should be. Or maybe only certain people should be aloud depending on the circumstances.
But then, on the other hand, should murder be made legal? I mean depending on the circumstances. What if your father raped you time and time again and then you murdered him? Or someone killed your wife or your child and you murdered that person? These are some pretty understandable situations for someone to murder another person, but murder is murder no matter the circumstances surrounding it.
I think abortion is wrong, but it is not my place to judge for another person. Should one persons life be more important than anothers? Who's to say a 16 year old girl is mentally capable of carrying and delivering a child that was concieved though rape and what if that girl decided to commit suicide because there was no option of abortion. Then both lives would be lost. Should the 16 year old girl lose her life aswell as the baby?
I dont think the issue of abortion is so clear cut as is murder, because it involves the lives of two individuals not just one. I dont think abortion is right, but maybe the choice should be in the hands of the one whose life will be altered and changed by this experience and if it is wrong let that person deal with the consequences of their actions.
I do, however, believe that we have a loving and a forgiving God.

Abortion should definitely be legal. Even if it was not, people would still find a way to abort the baby if they do not want it. Years ago, there were many cases of women harming themselves trying to abort their baby because it was not legal. For example using coat hangers, drinking things to get the fetus out, and going to shady people. I think that would happen again if abortion was made illegal.
That being said, I feel it is a persons choice and no one else should have a say in the matter. Many people speak about God and that is murder, but who are we to judge? If God does not like what that person has done, it is between that person and God on judgement day.
Many have said they chose to have sex so they should live with the consequences. It is not that simple. Some people are not ready nor are fit to be parents. The child would suffer. There is adoption, but many kids do not get adopted. Simply because it is very difficult and plus there is not that many people willing to adopt. Kids that are sick are especially less likely to get adopted because many people do not want the trouble. I have read many stories where crack babies or kids with other problems are passed over.
Many people oppose because they feel they are saving a life, but would those same people go and adopt those unwanted children or make sure their parents are taking care of them properly? Basically everyone has a choice and what is right for some is not for others. Abortion was made legal for a reason many years ago.

This should be in economics. yes because. Would you rather someone bring children in the world and the baby suffers. Do you know that some people feel that abortion is not killing the child it's getting rid of a fetus. Some young parents tell them have the abortion and or they are going to kill them. Some adults are forced to have an abortion because the guy they are pregnant by are abusive and told them to have an abortion or they would die. It's society. But I do believe that it should be an earlier limit; before the baby heart began to beat.

Abortion is a tricky issue. I don't believe I could ever have one myself, but I would certainly never take that right away from any woman who wanted to make that decision. In countries where abortion is illegal, thousands of women die every year from illegal backroom abortions. At least if it is legal women can go to a respectable doctor to have the procedure done correctly.
I have a daugther (and a second on the way) and I think I would encourage them to consider adoption, there are so many families who want children, but if my daughter chose to have an abortion I would feel a lot better about it if I knew a doctor was doing it, knowing she wouldn't be exposed to the physical health issues illegal abortions can cause.
Perhaps America should make it mandatory for mothers/fathers to undergo counseling before choosing to abort a baby, and then to continue going after the abortion, there are a lot of emotional issues that last for years after an abortion.

If a guy was so concerned about the welfare of a possible child then he had better be more careful of where his seed is planted. Abortion is a woman's choice not a man's. It's a woman who has to go through a pregnancy and delivery, not a man. There is a risk to her by going through this, if it is a risk she does not want to take that is her business. Besides, it is not a baby when you get an abortion, it is a clump of cells that has a vague resemblance to what a baby looks like. It has no capability to sustain life.

I am against abortion. The only time I would see it fit to have one is if you were raped. That is something I wouldn't want to have to live with for the rest of my life. But if you can have sex you better be ready to take care of a child. Sex is to make babies. Abortion is murder. That baby did nothing to you. It is all your fault (well not yours but those debating it) Children are a gift. Don't just throw it away! As a friend use to say in school "you play you pay"

I think it should be legal.
Because I still believe there are choices.
In my former country, the abortion is illegal and they have to do it in secret way (sometime with the help of traditional nurse), there's no trained doctor/nurse and no steril equipment.
So many woman died because losing blood and infection and my friend is one of them.
First I was against the abortion but I think I should try to respect anyone's decision.
Its their responsibility with their God/higher power and we should not interfere with that.
By making it legal, I believe in free will and pro choice.
Please don't judge people if isn't happening on yourself.

I believe abortion should be legal.
Before it was legal, women who didn't want their babies still attempted to get rid of them. It was often done in unsafe, unsanitary enviroments. We have many children already on this planet who need help and/or a family to care for them and see that they grow up right. I don't know the situation of every woman out there so it's not up to me to judge them or make decisions for them regarding thier bodies.

I think abortion should NOT be legal...too m,any people wanting children and can't concieve. The second part of your question, I think both parties should have a say in the matter. The Father and mother of the child should agree on what to do.
