Because glue needs air to dry and then plastic has a special compound in it

Glue needs a catalist (that is, a chemcial required for it to activate) which is normally air.

Super Glue will become hard in its tube in roughly 18 months once its opened because of exposure to the air and also that air does seep thru the sides of the tube.

If you leave the lid off then the air can get in and it will stick. Thats why the tip of the glue is always crusty. Same thing happens with Easy Cheese.

Its not made to stick to container it comes in.
