Jeff George's skills have definitely diminished, but he is still a capable starting QB.
Oh and busterp, the Bears did sign George a couple years ago during our troubled QB year (2004 season). He never played though.

Good Lord no! When I heard Oakland signed him, I was shocked. This guy must be older than Vinny Testaverdae, he was washed up back in the late 90's. This guy really needs to find another job.

STILL play????
He's a veteran backup, and can help the young QBs off the field. Experience is a good teacher. I just don't think he's the right mentor.

He's got a great arm...and a bad temper. He often thinks he's better than he is. I think that the raiders have a weak offensive line and if that's true, Jeff will be running for his life.

Absolutly he can still play. And Art Shell is the kind of coach who won't stand for any of his usual shananigans. If he dedicates himself and learns the playbook cover to cover, George could very well be called upon later in the season if need be.

If he can still throw the deep ball, he and Randy Moss could make a dangerous combination. We'll see how he and Art Shell get along. George is kind of a coach killer.
