Punk still lives. It's underground, but the attitude is still there. There are still hardcore DIYers, people fighting for social issues and people rebelling against corporate juggernauts.

Green Day is still punk to me. They've been said to have sold out, but the attitude is still lurking beneathe.

I'm going with Panic At The Disco!
Simple Plan
Blink 182
Yellowcard
Definitely Avril and Good Charlotte. I always wondered why anyone thought they were punk. Wearing eyeliner and giving people the middle finger is not all that consists of punk.
I'm going to add one that will probably get me kicked but I say Drop Kick Murphy too. Just not...there for me.

I do think first generation punk is the best. The Clash was awesome. Bad Brains. And so many more. Those were some good bands man.

All American Rejects (WTF???)
Fall Out Boy - Not punk - emo

REAL punk is Distillers, Dead Kennedys, The Adicts, Social Distortion, Sex Pistols, The Clash...etc. That's real punk.

anyone from the 90s and later who considers themselves punk IS NOT PUNK. punk bands are bands like the Ramones, the Sex Pistols, the Clash, Blondie, the New York Dolls, etc. Punk lived and dies in the late 70s and early 80s.

I personally don't think of the Clash as a punk band. They played alot of different styles....maybe their attitude was punky, punkish, punk-like, punkaliscious.....
