Based on the overwhelming # of answers given on this forum re. why men cheat, it sounds like you want your wife/gf to have sex with you anytime you feel like it. If she doesn't, you feel you must look elsewhere.
However, the answers also reflect a common opinion that sex with your wife/gf gets old & boring after being together so long -- even if the wife/gf is willing to experiment & try new things.
How do these concepts mesh? Is there a delicate balance that must be struck? Or are they mutually exclusive from each other?
(I feel I should explain up front that I'm not passing judgment & I'm not saying that women don't cheat as much as men. All I'm trying to do is understand the male thought processes. Thanks in advance for your thoughtful answers.)

Just because an answer is overwhelming doesn't make it accurate. I would point to other reasons why men cheat including, no moral basis not too, a lack of societal or communal accountability, self absorption, and fragile egos. I say all of this as a man. However, I tire of men being "men" biologically only and lacking the character that traditionally defined gentlemen.
So, as far as the answers given are concerned; I would say the paradox exists because they are fabricated answers that place the blame on women rather then take responsibility themselves.

I must first say I'm sorry for all of the men that seem to think it is okay to cheat. "I am sorry"
Cheating is wrong, there is no excuse, period.
Sex is a secondary part of a relationship, built on mutual respect, affection, love, we all know that women and men think differently about it. If a guy wants to get some, all he really has to do is say, "hey baby, you really smell good and dinner was great. Here, I brought you some flowers." It's really that easy, women want it just as much as we do, it's just a different path to get there.
Any person that can even remotely justify cheating on his wife should be shot at high noon in the middle of town.

I don't believe cheating has only to do with sex. In fact I would say most men may have sex with another woman but most cheating is a result of not getting something fulfilled at home. This may come from a desire to feel needed. I would say most men go through a point in their life where they are seeking and unsure of themselves and often their partners may not understand this and interpret it as they no longer love them when in reality they are unsure of themselves and when someone comes along who makes them feel like they used to way back they are easily taken in. In a society where we push fast life and promiscious living it is easy to believe that it is ok to cheat. Most of the time this ends in tragic destruction of a relationship as shown by the divorce rate in the U. S. Women go through this same process only they are often seeking what is denied them for real not merely perceived.

Men are genetically designed to sow their wild oats. That's an evolutionary thing to keep the human species alive (back in the caveman days).
In todays modern society that is no longer acceptable...but those genetics are still there. That's why men like porn and always check out other girls. But some men can control it better than others.
