because they didn't want to draw attention to it. or maybe they didn't even notice it. or perhaps they purposely didn't tell you to ridicule you.
either way, you should practice the XYZ procedure. tell your buddies if they ever notice an undone fly, just discreetly say 'XYZ' which stands for 'eXamine Your Zipper'. but if it's a false alarm XYZ (and you're feeling corny) you can respond with an 'ABC', 'Already Been Checked'.

I was too busy zipping my own back up.
I freaking hate that. I have this one pair of jeans that the zipper always works it's way down.
