Afraid of the unknown. Afraid to take risks. A good example would be a mom & pop business. They do all the bookwork, inventory, and buying by hand on paper.
Somebody comes in and says, "Hey! Why don't you get a computer? It will make everything easier. You can keep all of your records on a little teeny CD. You can project changes in sales. You can do your buying online". And mom & pop says, "No, no, no. We've been doing it this way for years and everything works just fine. We don't need no newfangled gadet to do what we already do by ourselves".
They simply do not want to learn new things or they are afraid they won't be able to learn. Or maybe they just don't want their little reality bubble popped.

well not really! if the change is for good and its a positive development then the majority feel good. However, many times I as a lawyer have protested against changes made in the rules of the court or the procedure involved in the administration of justice.

They r very happy the way things are now & dnt want to change.Could be the fear of the unknown, u dont know what is in store if you change your old reliable habit/ways. Ppl feel one change will lead to another & in the end they will lose control.

Change is a threat to what is usual, unless it is challenging and stimulating. Irritation is a response to be taken to adaptation or destruction.

In a rapidly expanding globalized world, change is the norm. The problem with change is that it takes away from a feeling of security. It is difficult for people to feel secure when they are surrounded by constant change.

change forces one to stray from their security of the familiar, to stand more on their own as they adapt. the unfamiliar/unknown is scary for most, causing stress and irritability, which probably arose as as an evolutionary trait--it is wise to be cautious. it also forces one to have to adapt their thinking skills and utilize coping mechanisms if necessary, things one does not necessarily do often, which further distracts from "life as normal" and adds to the stress...

It gives the impression that you are not in control of your surroundings or what happens in your life. People have a certain need for routine / familiarity...well, some people.
