After reading a few questions and answers on this forum, I get the impression that this is what many people believe, people should look at themselves first, and black people who think so need to get out more;, when some parents of other groups forbid their children to date interracially, especially with black people, and when they try, it creates conflict, some even get thrown out of the house, get cut off ;this still happens (even if in more subtle ways).Sometimes it is an understanding, people know exactly what they can and cannot 'bring home'. sometimes their families only warm up to them only when children are born. This happens with the Asains in my country, how could our heritage be so mixed(as one person said) yet we are so against it?

I think people should date whomever they want and others should keep out of it.

I hope racial hatred and barriers will go away - but so many people are so set in their ways.

Peace.

I don't think so!!! I think people from the Middle East are more against interracial dating than anybody as their parents actually disown them if they date outside the race...which is pitiful!

About a couple of years ago, I probably would've thought that Asians were more against interracial dating than any other group, but that notion quickly changed because here in the U.S. you just see so many Asian/Black relationships...and it's not only the younger Asians either, but the older one's as well.

All cultures have this problem, not just Blacks. My own family has told me that if I dated or married outside of my race they might shun me. Frankly, what do they know? Most of their relationships ended in diaster. Most of the men and women in my family have or are getting divorces right now. It is just so sad. Love should have no color.

Really? I didn't ever think that Blacks were the ones against interracial couples. I always took it as the white people being against it because they have always viewed blacks as subservient and that mentality has not diminished.

i have never gotten the impression that black people are against intteracial dating, i have gotten the idea that white people are against intteracial dating much more than black people. my parents are mormon and did not talk to me for 8 months after i seriously dated outside of my religon.

I think black people should all think this way. it will create more peace among other races. why should a poor black boy have to deal with mental abuse from other members of the family? he should just stay with his own kind.

it comes from all races, not just blacks. I am white and my husband is black and we heard the "interracial dating" speech from both sides. There are always those who will accept it and those who will not no matter what race it is.
