Two different musical worlds, but both good.

Deep Purple is still one of the greatest rock bands out there. They really came into their own when Ian Gillan and Roger Glover joined them in 1969, and a lot of the music they recorded back then sounds fresh today. Even their recent music sounds pretty good, though I'm partial to the older stuff. For a brief time, Joe Satriani was a member of the band, though the only stuff he can be heard on are bootleg recordings.

Strawberry Alarm Clock really was known for only one song - "Incense And Peppermints" - but what a song it was. Somewhere I have an anthology of these guys that I should listen to. Interesting note - one of the guitarists was Ed King, who went on to join Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Deep Purple rocks. Anyone who doesn't like them does not like rock. Never heard Strawberry Alarm Clock.
