With a tattoo, being as it is visible and life long, I would go to a dermatologist.
You will probably be sorry if you don't.
Plus it could turn out to be something that could alter the quality of the tat, difinately go to a dermatologist.
In the mean time I would keep neosporin on it.

your tattoo is infected if you dont let it breath it will get infected you are supposed to wash your tattoo 3 to 5 times a day blot dry only wash the tattoo with your hand no rag apply a light coating of tripple antibiotic ointment do not itch no prolonged sun exposure no prolonged soaking I would go back to the tattoo shop you got the tattoo from and ask what they think but you will probably have to get a antibiotic to clear up the infection.hope this helps!!!

Neosporin is not really a good healing agent for tatts. It would be a good idea to get some of the "tattoo goo" they sell at the ink shops and apply it as directed. It sounds like a minor skin irritation to me, you should be fine just having your regular doc take a look at it.

You could be having a reaction to the ointment you are putting on it,try changing that first,if that doesnt work it could be infection or scar tissue called keloids, check with the person who did the tat and they probaly have seen it all but awitch ointment first if your using that.Bacitracin is usually less irritant than neosporin but everyone is different.

it's probably some kind of skin irritation. Ask your doctor. If it was a ghetto tattoo then you might have some problems. Get it looked at

do't get too paranoid just yet... It could just be keloid scarring from the tattooing needle going to deep

My sister had something like that, it turned out to be skin cancer and she had to have it removed. You should see a dr.
