Why would your dr strip part of your membranes at 37 weeks. Most drs wouldn't even think of doing that until you are either overdue or in labour, but not progressing. Many women start dialating well before they go into labour and that is normal! I would question your dr as to why he did that.

any day now stripping dose not always help labor sometimes it can. If you don't go soon the doc will induce so at most you got maybe 3 weeks BUT I bet it will be before then. Labor and birth are never able to be determined before they happen even the best doc can not say you will go in labor on your own at 10am tomorrow!

You will probably go into labor within the next week. By stripping the membrane this will make it easier. Try walking every day and this will help also.

You may go into labor but if you dont...do not have the stripping done again,it has led to horrible consequences for some women and babies, let your body go into labor on its own like its suposed to.And 37 weeks is very early, your baby may need to go to 42 weeks to mature is lungs and system properly, can you imagine that your doctor is trying to bring a baby into the world who may need another 5 weeks? If you have ever seen a newborn baby gasping to breath and its chest is sinking in with every breath you would never want to chance that with your child. I dont mean to scare you but let your baby come when its ready unless its or your life are on the line.

Maybe. I was at a three for almost a week, until I was induced. Stripping only helps if you're ready.

The question I have for you is ..."Do you trust your doctor" ? If not go to another or to the ER .... I am sure there is a doctor there that can help you ... All we are on here is a nosey bunch of bored net users .... Think about your baby , and stop using useful time asking dumb questions on here...
