Sometimes you get to click if you want to know when they open your email but that also depends who you are with cause they all work different..

If you use Outlook you can set it up so the recipient sends a reciept when they open your mail. The drawback is that the recipient can choose not to send a reciept back.

theres an option for read reciept on outlook.
it asks them at the other end though and they can say dont send reciept
