So I just quit my pills yesterday, I know I need to be paitent, but do you think I could get pregnant right away before this period? How long should it take after I have quit taking the pill should I expect? I'm not sure, I got pregnant for my daughter when I was on the pill.

only 50% of couple get pregnant in the first year trying, so try to be patient in the unlikely event that it takes longer than you expect. But I got pregnant right the first regular cycle after I gave up the pill so..good luck!!

Please go to this site though, it helps so much in knowing when to do the deed!

Everyone's cycle is different. They only way to know is to know exactly when you ovulate. There are several ways to know and some are more effective than others. Some can only predict before ovulation happens and some can only predict that is has already happened. The absolute best info I can give you is to go read a book called Taking Charge of your fertility by Toni Weschler. It will help you understand your body and all the myths about it. It will help you time when you are ovulating and the best times to conceive – or not! . It's about knowing your body and knowing when you are fertile or not.
My husband and I tried for 1 year and had no luck....the first month that I began using the book I realized that my timing was WRONG!. We got pregnant that very first month and I am now due Feb 2, 2007. You can pick and choose what you do with your info. Good luck and don't listen the all the myths! Even if you don't get into charting and everything....it will help you in so many ways!

Women definitely CAN get pregnant in their first cycle off the Pill, but it's not necessarily likely. Most women take a little while for their cycle to regulate and for their cervix to resume producing fertile mucous. Since you got pregnant on the Pill, maybe you'll be one of the ones who gets pregnant really quickly off it. Or you could take 6 months and that wouldn't mean anything was wrong.

if you only just quit your pill then you should start your period over the next couple of days - just like you normally would when you stop the pill. unless, of course, you are on a pill that represses your periods - such as the mini-pill...

on average women will have their periods 4 weeks apart, & yes, it is possible that you could get pregnant before having your *next* period. although many doctors will recomend you wait to have a normal cycle before trying for a baby.

when i wanted my 2nd baby i finished my pill packet as usual & started my period/withdrawl bleed 2 days later - as usual. that was my only period, my next one didnt come & the test showed i was pregnant - on my 1st cycle.

good luck & please dont be dissapointed if it doesnt happen as quickly as you want it to.
