Any team coached by Bob Stoops will always be tough and competitive; however, the loss of Rhett Bomar will really hurt their offensive prodcution this season. Peterson is a great back, but with Thompson at QB, opposing defenses will focus on the rushing attack and force OU to beat them through the air. By the way, Peterson was also implicated in the Bomar scandal, but there wasn't enough tangible evidence to boot him off the team. That being said, Adrian will be gone next season and playing on Sundays.

I see the Sooners finishing 2nd or 3rd in the Big 12 south, and I look for them to have some close games against teams that they would have otherwise blown out if Bomar was around.

Sooners should have a good season. I dont see more than one loss happening to them. They have to watch the early games and see how the quarterback plays. If he plays well , then they could very easlily end up undefeated. The key game of course could be the Texas game. They win that one and watch out. Texas will not be the same without V. Young too. So it should be a really good matchup. With Bob Stoops coaching he always finds ways to win. It is sad that the loser of this game usually gets knocked out of the race for the national title game. The Big 12 is such a tough conference to play in, unlike the Pac 10 where they dont play anybody. That is my take.

I think the Longhorns are still the favorite to win the conference, and they'll likely be playing Nebraska. I know it sounds funny, but sportswriters are really hyping on Baylor. I don't know what it is about them. They played some close games last year, but they also got blown out by Texas like 62-0. Those are always fun to watch.

Wreck 'Em Tech!!! Can't wait for the Horns to fall this year... Wouldn't it be funny if Bomar beats those "mighty" Horns in a Sam Houston State uniform? I know long shot, but it would be great.. These arrogant Horns fans would probably commit suicide in the stands

Longhorns win again! Nebraska will be improved, OU will only be as good as Adrian Peterson and the defense.

i'm a big 10 fan - but i nhthink OU will be ok without him, its gonna depend on the health of peterson and if the new qb steps up.

OU had an excellent starter in Bomar. Too bad boosters have to screw things up. Also, those Huskers might be good this year.

With a wide receiver at quarterback, you might be able to hang with Baylor.

See you in Dallas.
