It is racist and chauvinistic, one only has to look at the Katrina debacle and glass ceilings for women in the corporate world for accurate examples of each.

USA is mainly racist and chauvinistic but the black people have the same rights (on paper) as the white people, am I wrong? Even if it is difficult socially or politically, you can even be the President. I am not aware of a law against it. The minorities are always going through bad times but they have the same opportunities. If you don't wanna wear the blindfold, for which I congratulate you, work hard to be a successful politician and shove it in their faces then.

look at any country in the world. any. whoever has the most money runs the country. this is a universal. is it good? is it best? is it right? no. it just is what it is. so if that makes america racist, then by that logic, every country is racist. the money changes hands from time to time, and then some other group will be on top. if there is a race that rules the roost, it is the wealthy. i guess they could be considered a race of sorts...in which case one could say that the government of any country is racist after all. BTW, my family consists of half a dozen races, though i remain a lily-white caucasion. i am an american. does that make me a racist? exclusivity is the last refuge of the insecure.

I do not think you are correct but am going to do what you did and just make assumptions rather than go get the facts.
I believe Congress represents percentage wise the black/white mix in the USA if you count all of the democrats the blacks vote for. Now if blacks want more blacks in congress they need to quit voting for the white democrats and seek out some blacks who will represent them well, not like Dollar Bill Jefferson does in Louisiana.
I believe Congress is a bit low on women. Now if you want more women in congress, quit voting for that white male democrat and find some women who will represent you.
You know this would have been simpler if you had done your homework and presented some numbers to support your theory, but you did not.

The problem is?
I'll vote for whomever I like. If they are all male and white, so be it.
Same thing as why are all farm workers Mexican? Because all the people that ask for a job are Mexican.
Stop trying to insinuate that we need affirmative action in our elections too. It's already screwed up the workplace and universities enough.

Whites make up 75% of the population.. In an election they only need 51%. Blacks make up 12% of the population yet they control most of the major cities. Blacks control the city governments, and virtually all the important offices from major, to chief of police in many metropolitan areas are all black. The blacks have formed themselves into a voting block and will vote by race. Whites on the other hand vote for blacks as well as whites.
Overall it is okay to be racist if your black, but its against the law if you're white.
Regarding the position of the Presidency, Colin Powell could be president if he wanted it. Obama could have the Democratic nomination if he wanted it. There are powerful black politicians.

The US is about as racist & chuvinistic as most nations of the old world. the representation of power/money is substantial and therefore not equal. the american elections select a winner and not a coalition, therefore minorities have less chance to win and are under-represented

There are Blacks in politics, it is all proportionate to the U.S. representation. Secondly, a victimized personality will get you no where in life, and unfortunately I see this alot in the African American community. First fix your attitude, then strive for success in life.Nobody gets anywhere with a "race card".

Caucasians (no offense to them) have had a very large head start. They 'founded' the nation and had land rights from the beginning.
Its simply "trickle down" economics.
Only time can smooth things out.

You aren't playing the race card because you are telling the truth. Those people who have on those blindfolds just can't seem to handle the truth when it comes down to this.
And you're hearing this from a white girl.
