I agree with the response recomending the Guttenberg project. It is a project attempting to scan and provide free access to ALL public domain properties that they can.

Amazing list of books, fiction and non fiction, articles, music and much more.

I have downloaded ALL of Mark Twains work, as well as Rudyard Kipling, Robt. Louis Stevenson, Bret Harte, Jules Vern, Alexandre Dumas, and so many more!
