the question was.. How did Cheney avoid Vietnam.. and this is one of the answers from a very vocal Neogoon that's on here all the time... what is treason or slander in a society that boasts about free speech.. he is entitled to his position but please clarify your thoughts here.. we aren't all like this right ?
quote>
Don't spend a lot of time worrying about it.
Bill Clinton was a draft dodger, committed acts of treason while living off us taxpayers when in Britian, and hated the military.
And then spent the rest of his life attacking and raping women while living off the taxpayers.

Please understand that these people just hate the truth. I am now so convinced of the fact that nothing can now disuade me. How do you think it was possible that the imbecile Bush was twice APPOINTED. I have never had a question truthfully answered by any of these goons. The minute you get near the truth you get insults.. Terrorist, Race card puller.. Libturd.. It's constant. Why don't they just accept they have been wrong over the last 6 years and continue to be so. They need to apologise to the rest of us.

I'm not a Republican , though I do find some demo remarks off the wall just as I do those baseless accusations against Clinton. Clinton is younger than Cheney and had a student deferment.
Cheney is 7 years older than Clinton , and was 1A and deferred 5 times. He used student deferments by enrolling in college every 2 years for 3 deferrments.
On October 6, 1965, the Selective Service lifted its ban against drafting married men who had no children. Nine months and two days later, Cheney's first daughter, Elizabeth, was born..
On January 19, 1966, when his wife was about 10 weeks pregnant, Mr. Cheney applied for 3-A status, the "hardship" exemption, which excluded men with children or dependent parents. It was granted. In January 1967, Cheney turned 26 and was no longer eligible for the draft.
And no one but that fool has ever heard of a Clinton rape accusation.

Frankly, I don't understand the draft dodger story much, not applied to Clinton, Bush or Cheney. As I remember, Cheney was a civil servant for Nixon/Ford administrations during the 70's/Vietnam. Before that, I do not know.
I don't think that Clinton, Bush or Cheney's service in the wars of this nation help or hinder their ability to serve the nation as civil servants. You can contrast that to Kerry's calculated entry into the military and his varying support for his military career versus contempt for the Vietnam War as a policy move.
There were times when men were forced into war because the situation demanded it. And so far as I know, these gentlemen used what legal and established means that were available to defer or delay their service requirements. I don't know that any of them illegally left the country and renounced their citizenship or America as a nation.
This right/left bickering is treasonous, in my opinion. America resides solely in the center. If you are on either side of that center, your allegiance and patriotism and care and concern for your nation are in question, because you have chosen to sling verbal and literal arrows across the heart and soul of this great country. It is time to stand up, shoulder to shoulder, and say I'm American first, and put party or political affiliation to the wayside, unless we are satisfied with disintegrating the greatest nation on the earth so that we can proudly display a jackass or an elephant on our lapel.

Thanks bro, im used to it.
This is how they avoid confronting the present. It would be like some Fanatical Democratic Goon answering a Q. about Clinton by reaching back to attack some former Repub. president years ago.
Weakness.

Many politicians served. Many did not.
I don't really think it's a defining issue.
I voted for Clinton - who did not serve - twice. I did not vote for either Bush 41 or Dole, both WWII combat veterans.
Was that wrong of me? Why or why not?
