My husband's passenger-side car window only rolls halfway up, and he thought he'd be clever and just temporarily duct tape the thing all the way up when it rains. Now he's finally fixed it, but it has all sorts of gummy, icky duct tape residue stuck to the window and around the top of the window where he taped it up to the top of the car. Ugh.

Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks!

Get a spray at a car accessories store called Invisible Glass cleaner. I've used that to get almost anything and everything off my car windows. If it's really super bad I'd say Goo Gone and a razor blade.

Spray on WD-40 and wait a minute or so for it to soak in, then scrape off the residue with a widget or razor blade (carefully, of course). Works like a charm1

Goo Gone! Great stuff! Dab a little on with a paper towel and let it set a bit. Using a little more rub if off with another paper towel. It should come off nicely. It will leave the window slightly oily, but that can be removed with regular glass cleaner.

GooGone, GoofOff or Oophs will all do the job really well. If you don't have some, you should get some because they are really great for dealing with tape residue, price stickers and other stickly stuff.

Windex and a window glass scraper. Spray the windex on, and then scrap the gum off with the scraper, it will come right off!

WD-40 gets all kinds of goo off surfaces. Just spray and wipe. Really anything that is petroleum-based should get it off. Gasoline, turpentine, WD-40, etc.
