Compared to a clean, normal filter?

As someone else has said, changing just the air filter element, be it K&N or any other, will not increase power very much, if at all, in an engine unless the air filter is clogged. K&N themselves claim only that: "Our replacement filters are designed to provide up to 4 horsepower." Keep in mind that this was the maximum they saw in all their testing. Of course they do not specify if it was on a 400+ hp engine or a poorly designed lower power one. You may safely assume that you may pick up one or two hp, an amount which would be almost too difficult to feel or measure on a dyno. See below for the reference on the K&N site.
On the other hand, K&N makes some intakes which will increase power output and I include one below. Maybe they have one for your car, but they include more than just an element.

Whatever you do, avoid these silly gadgets that have a 12 volt fan in your intake runner: these are just stupid and violate the laws of physics. They cannot pump nearly as much air as your engine can use, much less provide any supercharging effect at all.
One easy way to gain power is to change to synthetic oil. Gains between 8 and 12% have been well documented along with cooler running engines, due to reduced friction. Personally, I prefer Amsoil, which I change once per year.
Beyond that, not knowing what kind of engine this is, perhaps some aftermarket supplier makes a chip that helps with power. Find someone who has used one before purchasing as some companies produce things that really don't help much at all. Unfortunately I found that out the hard way.

You can make an air intake system just need a mass airflow sensor adapter I got mine at NAPA couple years ago. Then the piping to run the filter where you want. But yes with k&n you never have to buy a new filter but you change the filter once every 30,000 to 50,000 miles and its only around 5 to 10 bucks so...

To answer your question for more HP from a K&N filter. You will get NONE unless your old filter is clogged. The advantage to the K&N filter system is that it is REUSABLE.

Their main selling point is that they are reusable. But they do add HP true stock numbers mabe one or two. but when you upgrade your intake and TB with it then you see nicer gains.

Think it like 5 - 12 percent also there are these lil things that make the the air like a tornato and produces much more air.

the filter won't add ppower but because the engine can breath better it will perform better and you will have access to more of the horsepower the engine can produce
