almost every hotel is cheap on the Gold Coast, Paradise Isles (about $250 a week), Pink Poodle (about $50 a night), El'Mexico ( about $50 a night), etc etc better off just flying in and then find accomodation (provided you arent arriving on Indy Car weekend) theres always cheap accomodation....another good option is booking a Unit/flat theres heaps of them from about $200 oz dollars a week and they come fully equipt so you wont need to eat out every meal, however in saying that food is soooooo cheap to, heaps of restaurants offer $5 and $6 meals and all the surfclubs have brilliant menu's that are very very cheap.......have fun!

Try to get your accomodations from one city to another in advance, small local travel agencies always have good deals, you also can try traveling by night in Bus, rather than Flying,
