I'm dissapointed with the popular selection on the radio. To me the epitome of rap was the 90's west coast/east coast/death row/etc era. But I like Mobb Deep, the Roots, and select others. Anyone have suggestions? (No crap rap commercial bull$hhh). I don't want to hear about shoes, or bling, grillz, bler blah blur.

jedi mind tricks, atmosphere, sage francis, awol one, living legends, jurassic 5, are all good underground hip hop who rhyme about life, positive stuff. No crap about bling bling and biatches either. Good stuff. If you want ot go back to the 90's, then you got Tribe, De La Soul, and the other NY groups that became popular.

Enjoy!

The best rap is old school. You really gotta go back to 1980 - 1995. However, you can never go wrong with TuPac, Jay-Z or Rakim (with or without Eric B).
