I suggest no pillows while baby is still in a crib. Once he moves to a toddler bed, then a very thin, flat pillow (they do make children sized ones also) might be alright.

My 3 year old has been in a toddler bed for over a year, and he just got a pillow in the last 6 months.

I think it depends on your child as an individual. I have a nephew that wouldn't sleep a wink without a pillow from the time he was able to roll over. I also have nieces and nephews that are 14 and 15 and still do not sleep with a pillow. My son, who is nearly one likes to cuddle with a small pillow, but does not use one under his head, and he doesn't cuddle it every time he goes to sleep. Whatever works the best for your child is the right choice. It doesn't matter what we all tell you, trust your instincts. You're his parent for a reason.

Most children don't need a pillow until they are out of the crib and into a toddler bed. So around 2. Before that and it will end up on the floor or worse.

It depends why you want to use one. If you want to tilt the cot at the head end due to your baby having a cold or something, you could try putting something under the legs of the cot at the head end to prop them up. You could also put a baby pillow under the bottom sheet so it isn't loose and won't pose a suffocation risk. Other than that, I gave my two children a proper pillow when they moved into a proper bed, aged two.

MIne didn't have pillow till they were 2. If you feel the need to raise the end of the cot, eg to raise the head then prop up the cot under the legs or put pillow or rolled up blanket under the mattress. But pillows are just carriers of all sorts of bacteria and really shouldn't be used until as late as possible.

Babies don't need a pillow - I would suggest you wait until 3/4 & in own bed

Old enough so he can easily move around, the danger is him getting stuck underneath and suffocating. They dont really need a pillow untill they are in a proper bed, objects in the cot are a good 'leg up' tool to climb out!

Around 3 or older even. A pillow isn't that necessary, really. Some people sleep better without them.
