I was listening on the radio about women giving their signficant others an ulitmatitum to marry them or they leave. I personally dont agree with that because ur forcing someone to do something they dont want to do. And if ur not getting want u want out of the relationship then you need to move on.

that's f'n stupid! I would NEVER give my guy an ultimatum to marry me or i'm out. I wouldn't want to be with someone who doesn't want to be with me, makes NO sense. And like you said, you are pressuring and forcing them to make a decision they are not ready for or maybe they don't want.

I don't agree with it myself, but if the girl wants commitment and he doesn't, then they should break up anyway.
I have a friend who tol dher boyfriend if he doesn't propose after they've been dating 5 years, its over. That seems harsh to me and then theres pressure on him. they are both young too. They only have a little while left till the 5 year mark! what will happen?!

It wasn't phrased as an "ultimatum", but I did tell my significant other that if after a year and a half of our relationship he's still "not ready", I will have to go looking elsewhere, no hard feelings.

I totally agree with you. I would have never given my hubby an ultimatum. He wanted to marry me as badly as I wanted to marry him!

Ha ha ha. I dont' think a woman has ever done this and followed through. Guys you have nothing to worry about except a little complaining! STAY SINGLE!

Why is marriage so much better than just 'being together' anyway?
It's just a label and a last name... I have been with my guy for years now.... I want to marry him someday... when we BOTH have decided its time. Right now, I'm just happy being with him.

Sometimes you need to force their hands a bit. Get them to realise what they have in their lives whether or not they want to lose it.

no way, thats so controlling. yea i understand that after a while it would be a good idea especially if your relationship is strong. but i would never say something like that, that's just playing games.

^5's for Tom Leykis.

Women who give Ultimatums are all of a sudden single.
