Why won't they admit that sometimes they will be wrong, and their children will be right? Is it because they're adults and they think they will always be more right than whoever's younger than them?

I'm 19, so I basically just do whatever I want now. Of course, I limit myself. I know when it's not right to do something. But my parents still order me around like I'm still a kid. It's like I don't have a choice but to obey them, or I will be the bad one. I'm 19! Shouldn't I have complete freedom now? As much as I want to move, I can't. I mean literally, I can't move because of my situation right now.

Because they feel a need to maintain the illusion of authority. Just don't forget that they are also human, and like you are not always right. And, like you, they are doing the best they know how to do. And, legally, you have to take it until you're 18.

Let me say that I am a parent.... a parent who makes mistakes just like every other human being. However, parents do have a more wisdom USUALLY than their children. They have lived longer and experienced more. I think sometimes when you think your parents are so wrong about something- you can think that they have been in a similar situation and are trying to do right be you. After all- most parents really want their kids to be safe and save them from hurt that comes from bad choices. Both sides have to be patient with each other. Pray for them.

Just cuz parents have lived longer and experienced more DOESN'T mean they are right about everything. That's just a common mistake they make. I have a friend whose mom didn't let him date when he was 16 uz she told him that she knows he will make her pregnant. So he got himself a gf anyway, and he didn't have sex with her. So he proved his mom WRONG. That's what I mean. Many parents worry enough to think that they know everything regarding their sons or daughters, until they find themselves proven wrong. They have to realize that not every teen is rebellious.

Parents are always right,because they have experience in life and the way it is going nowadays,parents should have their words to say otherwise children get spoil without experience in their young age.

cuz most of the time they are right and dont like to be "shown up" by someone younger than them... and it makes them feel like you dont have respect for them by calling them a liar or that they are wrong...
