Because people are prepared to pay £30-£50 to watch a game and because tv companies pay huge amounts for the right to show a game and people either pay to watch or don't complain to the sponsors.

Because of the law of supply and demand. Have you ever studied economics? If not, here's the nickel lesson.
Scenario 1: You're crawling through the burning desert. You haven't had any water for 2 days. When you cough, you exhale a cloud of dust. If you had 100 dollars or pounds, I bet that you'd pay it very willingly for a warm glass of dirty water.
Scenario 2: You're working in a candy factory making chocolates. The boss told you when you started to eat all you want. After 2 weeks, you've gained 5 pounds, and your pants are getting tight. I doubt you'd give a penny for a pound of chocolates at that point.
In scenario 1, the supply of water was very low, but demand was very high. You'll pay a lot to get just a little. In scenario, demand was very low, but the supply was high. The goods were not worth much at all to you.
Now substitute skilled playing ability for water in scenario 1, and you'll begin to understand. And then go look up "Marginal propensity to consume", if you're still curious.

Because mug punters fork out for sky subscriptions, buy the merchandise, and allow themselves to get ripped off for tickets in order to keep these mercenaries in the obscenely opulent and tasteless lifestyles to which they have been accustomed.
If you were as crap at your job as Ben Thatcher is at his (regardless of violent assaults) - would you be earning £600,000 a year?.
Compare these wages to those of teachers, nurses, doctors - people who actually contribute to the well-being of our society.
Rant over - I need a lie down.

they get paid so much because they can make a team pay them or they wont move to that club so if the club want them they have to pay them what they want.
