On completion of medical studies, medical students take what is referred as Hippocratic Oath,a pledge to carry out duties diligently. Gynaecologists are specialist of the disease of the female reproductive system(uterus, vagina and ovaries) are responsible to there patients. The various medical associations are responsible for regular evaluation and assessment of medical practitioners. They try to see to it that those vested with the responsibility of giving health care services can be trusted.
However,no one is perfect and it's possible to find an erring gynaecologist, but that does not mean that all gynaecologist are pervert.

No. Most of them are professional doctors with no interest in their patients sexually. It's the few that are twisted and perverted that give the honest ones a bad name. I've had 2 male gyno's and have never had a problem with them. In fact, they're much gentler to a woman during her exam than a woman doctor is!

Grandmothers get pelvic exams as well. I don't know about anyone else, but I can think of more people that I would not want to see that closesly, than people that I would.

usually just the male ones, eh? if i were a woman i would choose a female m.d., if for no other reason, than that i've found female physicians far more caring and interested than their male colleagues. :-)
