have to add fluid periiodically, i have checked for leaks from res. to clutch. Possible internal leak??

When the clutch wears down (it's normal, just like brake pads) more brake fluid is needed in the line to make up the difference. When you eventually change the clutch, you'll have to remove some of the brake fluid.

Replace the brake pads and inspec the bleeder valves for slow leaks. If that does not work I would suggest new brake lines.
