i had the HIDA scan done and they say it is not working but 1 percent basically not existant is there anything i can do not to have to have surgery or is this my only option? i heard that your gall bladder can burst ?

its not a big deal to have it removed. in and out of the hospital in 24 hours, no stitches just bandaids. no visable scarring either.
i don't believe there is another alternative especially if you were told it had to come out. be sure to ask if it will be done laporscopically. they told me they wouldn't know that answer until they had a closer look at it. be sure to watch what you eat after surgery because lack of gall bladder can cause weight gain.

The only alternative would be a low fat no spice. low fiber diet and that probably won't work. Your body can function just fine with out the gallbladder. It is not a bad surgery anymore like it was when I had mine out. It is now done as a day surgery. I had to stay in the hospital 7 days and have a 14inch scar.

i had my gallbladder removed two years ago i have had more trouble since then i have gained weight and now have stomach cramps and sickness where before i had none of those so talk seriously to your doctor get all details before making a decision
