how much memory can be sent on an attachment on a standard e-mail

It depends on your ISP/email host and the recipient's ISP/email host. Yahoo's limit is 10, Hotmail, if I remember right, limits it to 4Mb.

As it is different for every system, there is no answer. But my "rule of thumb" has always been to keep attachments to more more the 5mb. I know what I can send, but I have no way of knowing what they can RECEIVE. So I keep them small, and do two e-mails if I have to.
