I was always told to gargle with salt water but that never helped me. It also doesn't taste very good.

Hot tea and honey is supposed to help.

It also depends on what is causing your sore throat. I get sore throats when my sinuses drain down my throat (ya, I know, gross). So when that happens, I just take some sinus medicine and everything is fine.

I always buy a box of Throat Coat Tea and a box of Organic Echinacea Elder Tea by Traditional Medicinals. I make a big 24 oz coffee mug with one tea bag each and a little bit of splenda. It tastes really good and you can find it at any local grocery store; sometimes its in the organic section if not found with the other teas. If your sore throat is persistent and isn't getting any better, please see your Dr.

1) Try gargling with a solution of warm salt water. Add about 2-3 tsp. salt to 1 cup of warm water; and gargle.
2) Suck on lozenges like Halls; I like the herbal ones from Ricola though
3) If it gets too bad after about 2-3 days, see your doctor.

Gargle hot salt water.

Drink hot bouillon, chicken broth, or lemon and honey.

If all else fails, see a doctor and find out why you have a soar throat.

Good luck!

Go get it checked out. If it's strep you'll need an antibiotic.
