Your question is a little difficult to answer since you're using a relative term. I don't know if it's "overly" violent since that line is drawn by each individual. Now, I don't have a problem with any level of violence in games per se, but I do have a problem with people playing games with levels of violence inappropriate for them.

Halo is a bit above average for violence, but I don't think I'd have a problem with a young teenager playing it since it's very stylized violence against aliens that are only nominally humanoid. I don't think I'd let a younger child play it since the stylized violence is still quite intense in places and that can get some kids pretty excited and that excitement can lead to other headaches.

Hello Concerned Mom. The kids here are going to tell you "no."

I am an almost-50 year old woman who has played Halo.

It's very violent.

However, I put it in a class well below other violent games like Grand Theft Auto, which reward you for killing innocent humans. In Halo, you just kill plasma-spewing aliens intent on eating your liver and taking over the Universe.

Hi,
Go to cheapest prices search engine and you can find all of the video game ratings. You can also compare prices so you will know how much a store should be charging you and you can print out the lowest price and ask the manager to match it.
Good luck.

halo and halo 2 and a sci-fi fictional video game about a genetically enhanced human/robot called master chief and in the game they find a big ring called halo and mosly is about aliens(the covenent) taking over halo and teh world and master chief go es out to kill them all......
sure its rated M for Mature but but still blood, very few cuss words, a lot of violence but still..
if you want ur child to play i would let him have a lil fun....
it depends on how old your child is. can he take the violence and a few cuss words and not get nightmares about it. it really depends on how old is your child is? if he is 10 and below of age and i wouldnt recommend it but if he is 11 and above of age am sure he is a big boy and he can play it
but its your choice to let him play
