A rainbow does not have a distance - it is simply an image created by water droplets. You can make a rainbow using a garden sprayer on a sunny day, and get as close to it as you please.

a rainbow is light. when u see a rainbow, thats as close as ulll get. rainbows are created by light going through a triangular prism

rainbows are created by light being refracted be another clear object (ex triangular prism or rain) ........ but since it IS light you can always touch it because its all around you

but if you put a sprinkler head on mist you can technically be able to touch the rainbow

I have been to the "end" of a rainbow...... right across the street from me in the bean field.
