A blood test can determine hormone deficiency. Depending on the person, a hormone imbalance, etc. can cause all of the symptoms you have named. It affects everyone differently. A hormone deficiency contributed greatly to my underlying depression. It was just awful. I was being treated for depression and the treatment was helping but not completely, until the physical problems were treated too.

Good luck to you. Get in and have that blood test. If you get a doctor who doesn't seem to think a hormone problem is important, then take those test results and find someone who is willing to listen to you and treat you.

A single test, no. Symptoms vary greatly depending on the particular hormone which is deficient.

Stressors can cause MANY things, including insomnia, depression, irritability, fatigue, and even weight loss! It's much more likely that the symptoms described are due to stress instead of hormone deficiencies.

That said, stress CAN influence hormone levels, particularly physical stressors. But the description above sounds like potential depression, as the other symptoms can be part of that.

See your doctor, though, and be open and honest with him. Remember that you're paying him for his expertise, and he MUST know all of what's going on with you to make a proper diagnosis.

The symptoms you have described can all be attributed to hormone deficiency and to other disorders as well, such as hypothyroidism. Please see your health care provider who may wish to perform a complete physical exam including blood tests. This needs to be evaulated appropriately.

Our bodies make more than one type of hormone, so a Dr. needs to run tests to determine what is out of order.
