About the same time anorexia arose.

Size 0 is a 24" waist, roughly

Size 00 is a 22" waist, roughly.

No one over the age of 10 should be that small. There's no way a normal sized adult woman could possibly be within a healthy weight range at that size. I weigh 110 and am a size 2/3 at 5'4'' and have about 23% body fat. The only time I was ever that small was when I was sick with pneumonia for 4 months. I see women that small and wonder how far their HIV has progressed. It's a hard size to find for a reason. Go eat a f'ing ham sandwich, jesus.

I don't know. I wear size 0 and it is sure as hell hard to find! Oh.. and if you check the BMI (body mass Index) and type in 100 lbs for a 19 yr old its a HEALTHY weight. I'm perfetcly healthy and eat 3 square meals a day and then some... WITHOUT binge and purding. Not everyone with a size 0 is anorexic. I happen to also be 4'10 too.

They were made because so many women especially teens are starving themselves. Can you say bulimic or anorexia? Skinny is not sexy or cute men like curves.

I can't remember the name! its driving me crazy. Well it all started when thin became in from this one tall skinny model whose name I can't remember. After marilyn monroe of course.
and people thought it looked good and began associating ultra-skinny-ness with beauty and I guess it went down hill from there.
