I wouldn't do that either.

I don't really think people should be tipped for just doing their job. They get paid to do that already! Im a teacher and I educate the future of America, but do I get tips??? NO! Waitresses and waiters are another story because they get paid in tips. The whole tipping thing is getting out of hand. I say, if someone does something for you that you really appreciate, show your appretiation with a tip. Like for a hair dresser or something. The Dunkin Donuts person pours a freakin cup of coffee and walks 3 steps to get you a donut they didnt even make. So no. No tips for the donut man.

NO Way! I know sometimes they have a little tip cup b/c some people don't like to deal with change but i've never heard of it on a cc slip. They may just have the kind of cc machine that automatically pops that out? STtil weird. I wouldn't tip them - though, never have before. Also - they are no waiters or watiresses - those people get tips but also have a two dollar and something minimum wage (at least when i was a waitress - the min. wage for it then was 2.36/hour) - these peeps are probably making a normal miminum wage if not more. Don't feel guilty - although, it is nice of you to feel guilty - you have morals :)

I would tip them if I liked their service. The few times I've been to Dunkin Donuts and ordered coffee, they actually made it the way I like it (cream & sweetner). It was nice to have them take a few extra seconds to make my coffee perfect. No other fast food place does that...at least in my experiences, it's never happened anywhere other than Dunkin Donuts. Starbucks charges $1 more for coffee and you still have to fix it the way you like it.

Never heard of tipping in Dunkin Donuts and I would have done exactly the same as you.

I was a waitress and often had to take time away from my tables when I was busy so that I could put together and cash out a carry out order. If it took away from my other tips when I was busy because my tables thought I was neglecting them, yes, I think I should have at least gotten a couple of dollars for the work. These things don't just magically appear, someone has to take time, even when they are really busy, to put them together.

NO TIP!!!! Tips are for personalized services like the one provided by a waiter, where effort is rated and motivated by the tip. Those who just pass something from behind a counter won't improve the passing by your tip, so there is no point to it.
There is a sick obsession with tipping in the US, and it is also abusive. Now anyone expects tips for doing their PAYED jobs (the doorman in a hotel is payed through your bill, and he will open the door anyway in the same manner), so only tip someone if they do something extraordinary or if their service required extra effort (like a bell boy with lots of bags, not a doorman for extending a finger for a cab).

Tips are not required, but some buisness are leaving it as an option because they get a surcharge for credit purchases. No one who makes min. wage or more needs a tip. Onless they are performing a service for you. Other underpaid ppl are hairdressers. They don't get paid much, usually have to pay for thier space, and work long hours. I usually leave a tip if they did a good job, and for my usual hairdresser I give her small tips through the year and then a big one around Christmas.

I wouldn't tip on a credit card...but if they have a tip jar on the counter and I was paying cash, I might toss in the odd coins I get back in change. No more.

No, tips are usually for performing a service. Doughnut shop employees are paid by the hour only. Waiters, bartenders, etc. are paid a wage below the minimum wage because most of their pay is in tips.

Most folks who work in the restaurant industry, whether it be a posh, fancy place or a fast food stop, generally receive minimum wage or less. These folks rely on tips, so it is a good idea to tip wherever you go.
