i have one child born 3yrs ago.now we want another child.but from last 2 years we try but in vain.now the local doctors said that the tube in overy is block.and you need a tube test.can we do this taste.pls inform me from merit &de merit of this tast.

What you are talking about is called a Hystero Salpingogram (the word Hystero refers to the Uterus and Salpinx is the fallopian tube through which the egg or fertilized egg must pass before it implants in the uterus.

Infertility doctors and their staff frequently claim that doing this test for tubal patency actually helps the patient become pregnant in the first 3 months following the procedure because it opens and clears out the fallopian tube.

I'm not a doctor, but if one Fallopian tube is blocked you might have trouble conceiving because you don't necessarily alternate ovaries every month so you would have to wait until the ovary with the unblocked tube released an egg and hope that you catch it when the time is right for fertilization.

If both Fallopian tubes are blocked, or if your physician feels that they may be, what they do is blow gas into your tubes while watching to see if the gas goes all the way through which means of course that the tube is clear and an egg should get through. The benefits of the test aside from knowing if the tube is blocked and where they would need to unblock it is that sometimes the test itself will unblock the tube.
