i always use travelocity. then check some of the discount airline sites directly (airtran.com, southwest, etc)

It seems to me that Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday are the cheapest days to travel and
i find the best site for searching plane flights is Orbitz.com
but after I find the cheap flights on orbitz i search that airlines site which is usually about 5 to 10 dollars cheaper than the cheap orbitz price.
also priceline is great with name your own price but you have to be flexible on the time of day that your flight is.

Check out farechase - it is a site that compares all prices for airlines and does not make money from airlines - so no "Expedia recommends" etc. And you can play around with times and days to get the best price. check it out - cool to play around with anyway

weekends are best day to fly. You can find best deals on www.expedia.com and www.priceline.com
