Yes, but it requires some additional hardware. First, you'll need a video card on our computer that accepts inputs from the types of cables that are used on a home entertainment system: red, white, and yellow. Next, you'll need capture software running on the computer, such as Adobe Premiere. You'll then need to take the red and white cables and plug then into the tape deck output ports. Plug the other ends into the ports on the computer card. Then, when you run the capture software, you can play the tape and the sound will be captured on your computer.
An easier way with much lower quality would be to hook up a microphone to your computer (you should already have a port for that) and simply pick up the sound of the tape playing.

You need to connect your cassette tape player to the input audio port on the back of your computer. Then use recording software to save as wav.

I've been recording tapes to CD and then putting them into the computer. A lot easier. But if you connect your tape player to your computer and record the .wav file is automatically created with your recording program.
Have a great day!!!

Quite simple
1. you can add the output of your tape player to input line (line in or mic).
2. If windows xp is your os then look for movie maker and select the input device. Record the song directly
3. Any othe previous os look for sound recorder.
4. If stuck let me know.

Play it directly into your audio input (line-in) maybe record-mic in put. on your motherboard/soundcard.
Windows has a simple program - sound recorder that can record into wav. Then you can convert to mp3 with winamp.

the easiest way to do that would be to record it with a microphone. if you dont have a microphone you could just Download it. its not illegal if you own the tape. the source i use to download is limewire.
you can get it at limewire.com
