Otterhey, folks, would someone be so kind as to tell me why many of you Ladies pluck out and/or shave off your eyebrows just to redraw them back on? I've never understood this and would appreciate serious answers (and polite ones, if you please). Thank you.

Eyebrows are the most expressive part of a person's face. While it's generally best to just shape up what you were born with, some people take it all off and get the shape they like best.

Just a few hairs from your eyebrows can make a world of difference in the expression that you have on your face. I don't "need" to pluck, but I do because it makes me look more open and friendly.

Well I must say it was an old school faux paux! Think about it back then in the times before the late 80's young ladies didn't have the ability to get them waxed and get them shaved with accuracy as a good waxing does now! So with that said some woman just like to draw on the shape they can achieve with an eyeliner pencil however my best friend has a head full of thick curly wavy hair and not one piece of hair for an eyebrow so this is why she does it. However on the other hand I get mine arched and I have a nice consistency but when ever I decide to dye my hair lighter brown colors I use MAC Brand Swiss Chocolate eyeshadow to fill them in so they blend with my earth toned make up instead of dying them. It's crazy though to see some one with out eyebrows when the eyeliner is all smudged or when they draw them too wide or high or when the sun beams on them!

I don't pluck...it hurts too much!! Shave only when its start getting out of control. I've seen drawn eyebrows, mostly on older women though. Especially if they have thinning hair.

I was born with great eyebrow shape and I never plocked them out in my entire life (and I'm nineteen). I watched my friend do it yesterday and in my opinion, she just made them worst. But I really wonder how some girls plock them out just like that. Like it doesn't hurt at all...?

Anyway, I think it crossed some lady's mind to plock her eyebrows once and they maybe looked better, so some other ladies did it too and now it turned into a must-do thing that's as important to most women as eating. But I think that most women would look just fine even without a perfect eyebrow shape.

I personally don't pluck my eyebrows I get them waxed and its to arch them not take them completely off so I don't know why some girls do it maybe its because a lot of girls have really thick eyebrows and when they get them arched it does not come out right so they rather just shave them all off then do them their self. Hope that helps?!?!?!

I've wondered that myself. I think that years of plucking depleats the brow, and as we age the hairs get kookie....and you end up removing more brow. I just hope that I will never have to draw in my eyebrows.

I don't wax my brows thin, I have dark, meduim thickness brows. Theyre not bushy but they are not invisible I let em grow naturally and I pluck the few strays.

I don't draw mine back on, but get them waxed to define the shape. If don't take care of them they get pretty bushy. Some people have areas that never grow and need to get them penciled in.
