Japan's got the hottest video game technologies.
There was this TV show about a Video Game convention in Japan. They now have sensors to attach to your body so that you get the sensation of flying. I'm sure you've been to those virtual roller-coasters right? Well, they have it now where connecting to specific pressure points/ pulses on your body will trigger the sensation of "G-Forces".

I don't know what's coming, but I am certainly worried about what's already here. The fact that companies that spend millions on marketing research will pander to the bad taste of a few, is certainly a major concern about whether or not I will allow my children and grandchildren to spend my or their money on games that make hurting others, breaking laws, or in general, being a poor excuse for a human being something that they will accept as a "good" thing. Adults are passing these things off as acceptable "entertainment." I wonder if they would approve of these products for their own children. Responsibility, folks, is something EVERYONE needs to practice...not just SOME of us. Thanks for asking a very thought provoking question.

The upcoming Nintendo Wii is a reliable indicator as to where the industry as a whole is moving towards. We're eventually going to abandon handheld controllers and have games that we control from the inside.
Hopefully it will culminate in full virtual reality games.

good question.
only problem i really have with todays games is that they seem to be all graphics and no actual game play. so i personally feel they haven't really changed. i mean take these madden games for example. in all reality they aren't that different from the next..ooooooooh whooopie so we can no listen to so and so a now instead of so and so. ooooooh now they have a new all madden teams.
i mean really is that the best they can do? designers need to think deeper about the games inwhich they make instead of-oh we'll make it harder by making the player his all thes buttons just to make it work.

video games are soo realistic these days( i remeber when I used to rock my atari and my intellivision)
that they are scary. i have no idea what the next big thing will be.
getting a super nintendo the week it came out was the thrill of my
7th grade carreer. and the scary part is that there are like 11 year
olds (my sister for example) and they are KICKING MY @SS AT
HALO PLAYING THE XBOX LIVE THING. unbelievable. they are so good at these complicated games, its scary.
