I constantly have a feeling of not being safe. But I can't figure out why im having these feelings. There is no one who is "out to get me" and the neighborhood I live in has little crime, actually I don't remember the last time there was a crime in my town.

But I still fear that im not safe. I have a security system installed that cost's me too much a month, I have extra locks on all my doors that come into the house inculding bolts (the mini hotel style ones). At night I lock all the windows and I do a search of the basement.

My husband thinks it's all silly, but it really does bother me. Im worried every night that some person will come into my house and hurt me and my husband. Maybe im parinoid? Maybe I watch too much news? My husband thinks the whole thing is silly, but it really bothers me.

Why am I like this?

i know it soudns like a strange reason for therapy.. but it might be the answer. you could figure out why you are feeling so unsafe and confront those feelings. it actually happened to a friend of mine that felt the same way you do. she went and saw a psychologist and now she feels better.. gets better sleep, and has a higher confidence...!

good luck

Maybe you have a fear like phobia that someone is going to break in your house. Make sure your doors are locked and always close the windows shut in the morning and night. Don't worry about it you'll find a way to get rid of this phobia. Know who comes home who has keys too. Good thing you have a security system and hope it is on always.

You need to go to a doctor and get checked out because you might have OCD (Obsessive-Cumpulsive Disorder). It can be treated through therapy. It seems to me like it might have to do with personal insecurities, but don't worry, your probably not the only one that has to deal with this. Nowadays, nobody is safe anymore, but as long as you take precautions, it should be ok. Have you considered you or your husband investing in a handgun? My husband keeps one under the bed just in case of an emergency. Also if you don't already have one, a good guard dog might help you put your mind at ease as well

Unfortunately you are paranoid. Why don't you and your husband talk it over, and discuss things together. I recommend going to the police department, and getting some research of safety proofing your home. I had the same fear when I was not home (Away from home for a weekend) Until my dad told me to leave a light on at night/

You may want to leave a light on in the kitchen such as the range hood light, and that may prevent anyone trying to break in. I also recommend getting a dog such as a Doberman or a Germen Shepard, that is trained to protect your home. That way when someone is on your property, and they to not belong on your premises, the dog will bark out loud and that will wake you up, and most likely when the intruder breaks in he will b afraid of the dog attacking him, and hopefully he runs away.

Whoa, you're definitely paranoid.

I used to live in a country where the crime rate is HIGH. But I didn't even have a security system or anything like that.

Don't be so scared, if it's safe then it's safe, if you need to live in your own personal prison (and don't feel safe without it) then just keep on doing it.

they are basically being careful. some babies have not been clinically determined with particular hypersensitive reactions yet and whilst some little ones are allergic to issues, they do no longer continuously understand to tell somebody that they are not feeling stunning. it particularly is a perilous challenge. maximum adults understand by using that factor what they are allergic to and understand what to do in the event that they arrive in touch with something. in addition they understand the signs and warning signs of a reaction and whilst they only are not feeling stunning. some faculties might take it somewhat a techniques, like the stuff approximately interior the morning...yet i think of the nut unfastened tables and lecture rooms are a large precaution.

Yes ,,it does sound like you have a bit of paranoia...It also may stem from feelings of insecurity in your Husbands ability to be the natural protector...Do you feel your husband is not able to protect you in a situation?,,,Or,, in your past,,,have you wronged someone to give you a reason to feel unsafe...Strong guilt repressed from hurting someone could be a reasonable cause for you to feel like someone's gonna get you,,,,,,difficult to say without learning more about ((( the skeletons in your closet ))),,,,,if it's as bad as you're making it sound,,,you REALLY should consider counseling,,,something like this could be very destructive ,,to you and your relationship,,,GL

Your overactive mind is a possibility. Spirits are another. Cut back on news to twice a week, and pray. Then there is the Madea approach...find peace in a "piece" of steel. God doesn't want us to be dumb, sitting ducks for marauders either.

you should probably invest in a home security system for your peace of mind at least. I get like that too, only I know who i fear.. thats the scary part. :(

I dunno, this sounds like something a psychologist might be able to help you with. Maybe you are insecure about something else and trying to compensate. Maybe you had a traumatic experience or a period of your life when you felt very vulnerable, etc etc.
