I have a Server running on Win NT Server and I have another comp running Win XP Home Edition. I understand Home edition doesn't have the Networking Properties as the Professional edition. Is there a way to by pass it so I can access the server? Right now all the computers are set up to be the same workgroup (connected through a router). I can see the other comps in the network but can not access them. This computer can not see the Server At all. Please help! Any comments would help! Thanks.

If all computers, including the server, are set up to have the same workgroup name, then they should be able to access each other. This assumes that the appropriate file sharing options, etc. are set.

XP Home cannot join a domain. So, if the server is setup as a domain controller, then the XP Home computer will not be able to join its domain. It can, however, be setup to access a network share defined on the server; it will need an appropriate user name and password.

Even if u are using Windows Home Edition you can still connect that computer to a network..
To my best of knowledge..run set up a home or small office network in network connections which is found in control panel and as soon as the wizard completes its work insert a floppy disk when asked. The next step is to insert the floppy in your Windows Home PC and run the file present in the floppy.
This may sure put that PC in network.
Hope this solves the problem
Thanks
