The possibility of cloning is there, but the practicality of it is not. There is no practical reason to clone a human being with the advancement in the technology field. By the time that cloning is perfected, there will most likely be alternate routes of preserving oneself without the dependency upon biology. Technology evolves at an exponential rate, and if you read into the Law of Accelerating Returns, you can easily deduct that computers will surpass human intelligence within the next few decades. At that point, it would be obsolete to clone oneself if you could simply integrate and get rid of your unnecessary biological components for more efficient and less problematic technological ones. With that option open, the desire to clone oneself will be dissolved due to the fact that the benefits are better achieved through technology and there are no side effects like your new body decomposing as well. Ultimately, by the time cloning has progressed to the point of efficiently cloning humans, and once it is legal to do, it will be entirely unnecessary on people.

Theoretically yes from what Ive read. Its possible. But something being possible doesnt mean it will be succesful or even practical. I dont know anywhere near enough about so complicated a subject to say. But certainly we are gettingl closer to it being practical. That leads to another question. Just because we could do it doesnt mean we should do it.

Medically, it's theoretically possible.

I have not heard of any successfuly attempts, however. And the long-term stability of the clones is still unverified.
