Emo is short for emotional. And its also a music genre; its like a softer version of punk. So an emo kid is probably either a very sensitive kid, or a kid that likes to listen to emo n wears emo-style clothes. Hope this helps. :)

emo was supposed to mean emotional rock. but you can't really label a band as exactly emo. there are different types of emo rock. an emo kid is usually person who wears tight pants and has that rock look to them. some people say that if you're emo then you are REALLY emotional. i don't really believe that that is full true. i think emo guys are hot! for example, adam lazzara or jared leto.

emo means emotionally challenged. Emo music is like alternative/rock music but talks about emotions in life. So people that usually listen to this type of music is labeled/stereotyped to be emo.
