You be the judge: UN denounces Israel cluster bombs

The UN's humanitarian chief has accused Israel of "completely immoral" use of cluster bombs in Lebanon.
UN clearance experts had so far found 100,000 unexploded cluster bomblets at 359 separate sites, Jan Egeland said.

"Ninety per cent of the cluster bomb strikes occurred in the last 72 hours of the conflict, when we knew there would be a resolution," he said.

He said it would take 12-15 months to clear the devices, and that people were being wounded and killed daily.

"Cluster bombs have affected large areas - lots of homes, lots of farmland," Mr Egeland said, describing the statistics as "shocking new information".

He added: "They will be with us for many months, possibly years. Every day, people are maimed, wounded and killed by these weapons. It shouldn't have happened."

No one cares because ARAB is now synomous with TERROR. i think its digusting and if Lebanon did it, we would start talking "regime change" and "weapons of Mass Destruction", and seeing how we could link Lebanon with 911.

Well, I can tell you - it once again shows the UN's anti-Israel bias, at least as it's reported in the US.

Did this same moron spend any time whining about Hezbollah sending rockets willy-nilly into civilian areas of Haifa, et al.? I think not, and if he did, it won't be reported here, will it?

Harsh. But that's one military strategy.

If you can't attack the enemy, make it so that the enemy cannot occupy the territory either. Not very nice, but sound military strategy.

Similar to what the US did when it land-mined the buffer zone between North and South Korea. Prevents enemy troops from getting too close.
