This is an essay topic.

You are supposed to write your ideas on your country. What do you think about your country. Country is made up of her people, it is recognized by her government. Do you think people are good in your country? Do you think the policies that are followed in your country are good? Do you think everyone has equal rights in your country? Do you think there is enough freedom in your country?

If you answered no to any of these questions, then you have to write reasons for that. Why is it that you answered NO. Then you have to suggest ways to improve the conditions of your country.

That's it.

This expression comes from days long past by the many Americans who believed in the USA as a country. I guess we'd call it an ideological issue today. It was at one time in our national history "in" to simply be patriotic, and I'm compelled to also mention the McCarthy era as well. Americans would rather live in and stand for their country, regardless if the country was doing something that was thought of as being right or wrong. Especially if thought by the rest of the world. Viet Nam and Iraq both jump into my mind. Some liken the attitude - my country right or wrong - to WW2 and Nazi Germany - personally I fail to see the resemblance.

I earnestly wish the USA to be right more often than it is wrong, but it is still my country and I'll die defending her b/c, while she asks little of me, she gives me the just and solid right to choose!

With all it's faults I'd still rather live in no other place on Earth!

To the many who will disagree with me I say, if you don't like it here, then get out! Move to a place you prefer! Thank you.

It means that you are devoted to your country wheater's its policy, politics, culture, etc.. are right or wrong. Depending on you point of view this can be unconditional love and devotion for you country or dangerously over zealous patriotism.

A negative example of this can be seen with German officers in WWII. Many did not agree with want the Nazis or Hitler where doing however many cared out the orders to the letter because they believed this was there duty.

I think a more positive example would be in the US civil war. Many people did not agree with fighting there countrymen, however, many supported the union and today the US is a better place for it.

Of course this is not limited to times of war it can involved anything that touches the on a nation.

most times, the words "right" or "wrong" are not applied when speaking of one's country. for some reason, patrioism is always seen as a higher ideal. then individuals are lost. if as an individual YOU have a defined conception of write and wrong then go with your gut
